This past weekend, our very first VIDA School of Discipleship cohort celebrated their graduation – a year of living life intentionally, first in Guatemala, then back home in North America. They gathered for a final retreat (this time in the Rocky Mountains rather than in the mountains of Guatemala) to reflect on what God had done in their lives over the past year of daring to follow Jesus.
Here’s what VIDA School of Discipleship participants had to say about their year:
“I am very blessed to be a part of this first VIDA School of Discipleship. I will always look back on this time with fond memories, remembering God’s faithfulness and to praise Him in all situations” – Robyn
“The time in Guatemala taught me so much and greatly benefited my walk with the Lord. It has been amazing to reconnect in person after months of video chats and praying together” – Kaitlyn
And from their team leader:
“Can’t believe the year is done! It’s been a great journey. Loved our time in Guatemala. Early on, saw the strategy behind weekly meetings in North America to integrate what was learned. Greatly cherish meeting together to graduate; great to catch up, even better to share what God has done. Reflection shows God has moved individually and there has been exponential growth this year. Looking forward to the next chapters; hopefully it includes Guatemala.” – Britney
What a blessing to come to the culmination of this VIDA School of Discipleship journey with this group. We have been encouraged by hearing God-stories from throughout the year and seeing souls that are chasing after Jesus. And we’re excited to see where God will take these young adults in the years to come.
