Take some time out, grab a flight, and hit the ground running in Guatemala. Use your skills for a life-changing experience – for yourself and for those you go to serve.

Impact Ministries acknowledges the need to minimize the North American cultural footprint in Guatemala, but we do have some opportunities for those wishing to serve longer term.

Below are some of the roles we’ve identified with our Guatemalan Leadership as being priorities for Impact Ministries.

Even if you don’t see your skillset reflected, you are welcome to fill out an interest form to begin the conversation.

Current Opportunities

English as a Foreign Language Instructor (2 months+)

– teach for a semester or more at our Vida Schools (full year preferred):
mid-January to mid-March
mid-March to end of May
all of June and July
beginning of August to mid-October

– students learning English are generally in middle school or above

– you may also assist in teaching English to our Spanish-speaking staff in Guatemala

– some TESL training is required

– Spanish is an asset but not required

Teams Translator (2 months+)

– translate for our Impact Teams while they are on the ground in Guatemala

– must be fluent in Spanish and English

– teams are in Guatemala from mid-January to mid-October

Mechanic (1 week – 2 months+)

– maintain and repair Impact Ministries vehicles in our shop

– Spanish is an asset

– dates are flexible

First Aid Instructor (1-2 weeks)

– provide First Aid instruction to the staff in Guatemala

– First Aid Instructor Certification is preferred, but not required if the instructor has completed a CPR instructor course or a First Aid instructor development program

– Spanish is an asset but not required

– dates are flexible

Photographer/Videographer (1 week – 2 months+)

– assist in obtaining high-quality photos and/or video clips for our ministry

– assist in training our Guatemalan photographer in best practices for photo and/or video work

– may also assist in providing training for photo or video editing

– Spanish is an asset but not required

– dates are flexible, but may need to take into account translator schedules

Medical/Dental Practitioner (1 week – 2 months+)

– provide medical or dental care in your area of practice through the Impact Ministries clinic

– Spanish is an asset but not required

– dates are flexible

*These are faith-based opportunities and require support raising to cover your flight and your expenses in Guatemala
