Brothers & Sisters, in Guatemala, we’ve been celebrating sponsorship this month. As Operations Managers here in Guatemala, we want to say thank you for sharing the love of Jesus with our children! The love you share is reflected in the smiles of the kids and their teachers when they hear they are being sponsored by brothers and sisters like you!
We still have more children and classes waiting for sponsors. Will you keep praying with us and help us identify those who God is calling to sow into the lives of these students?
As a former Impact sponsor child, as former teachers and principals, and as current parents of Vida students, we want you to know just how big a deal sponsorship is to children in Guatemala.
Children come asking when they’ll finally get a sponsor. Parents also ask. We remind them to pray, pray, pray. I (Hector) remember praying as a child for the Lord to provide me with a sponsor. Each and every sponsor at Impact Ministries is a direct answer to many prayers.
When you sponsor a child or a class, you become that answer to prayer. And you make God’s love tangible to our students. The children’s conviction that the Lord cares for them becomes real as they experience the love and care of their sponsors. Our students will always remember that there are people who love the Lord, who hear his voice so clearly that they are moved to give month after month to a child or a group of students.
Our biggest need right now is for more class sponsors. We’ve seen how class sponsorship marks lives through our own sons and daughter. Our children talk about their class sponsors, and how special it makes them feel that their classes are supported. And the excitement when a sponsor comes to visit – they are thrilled to be able to put a face to the people who love them from afar.
Some may think sponsoring a class isn’t as personal or impactful as sponsoring an individual child. But we have seen that receiving this blessing as a group teaches our students that they are part of something bigger. Just knowing that there are brothers and sisters thinking about their class as a whole and sponsoring them challenges them to pull together and study hard.
Class sponsorship also becomes a reminder to the children that the Lord answers, that He loves so much that He even sends people who don’t know them personally to bless them.
That, brothers and sisters, increases their faith in the Living God that Vida Schools preach about every day in our classrooms.
We know that many of you already sacrifice much to sponsor our children. We want you to know with absolute certainty that the sacrifice is worth it!
We also ask you to share about sponsorship with friends and family members. If you know someone who is looking for a Christ-centered sponsorship program, who might want to be part of the Lord’s dream of bringing the Living Word to students in Guatemala, please invite them to consider our children and classes still waiting for sponsors.
Thank you, brothers and sisters, for all you do for the Lord and for our children in Guatemala. The seed is being planted in fertile soil!
(As the children pray for their class sponsors, asking the Lord to take care of them, protect them, and bless them for the seed they are planting in their lives, they are growing in their faith that the Lord takes care of everyone and provides in wonderful ways)
