Have you ever seen photos of friends hugging kids on a mission trip – or even hugged some kids yourself – and then wondered if it really makes a difference? Is short-term missions really worth it?
Delmi thinks so.
Delmi attended our schools as a child. She remembers receiving some of those hugs! We shared her story in our Fall Newsletter, and it made me cry.
I thought you might want to hear Teacher Delmi share her story in her own words – of a childhood with no hugs, and of how God used her teachers, her sponsors, and teams who visited to hug her and give her hope. Grab a tissue:
There are still too many of those dysfunctional places in Guatemala, homes where children grow up with no hugs and no hope. When you come to Guatemala – or when you sponsor a child or class – you share the hope of Jesus with children and families in Guatemala. Thank you for sharing hope 💙
(Want to come to Guatemala? Our 2025 Sponsorship Team is scheduled for April 26th to May 6th, or check out other Impact Team options. Want to come alongside a teacher like Teacher Delmi as they speak love into the lives of children in their class? Check out classes still waiting for a sponsor. These are just a few of the ways you can share the hope of Jesus in Guatemala)
